Recommended Guide to Embracing Teamwork in the Creative Workplace

Teamwork is always a challenge--especially in artistic endeavors. In Designing Together, Brown addresses the central issue of working as a team within the design community and stresses the importance of achieving results and resolving differences. Brown acknowledges that disagreements within creative work are inevitable and actually aren't even unwanted or to be avoided. Instead, he explains how to channel conflicting ideas and focus on the results instead of differences within the team. This book avoids relying on clich�s and instead delivers insights with much clarity. I'm excited to implement ideas from Designing Together to reduce group related stress at my business and harmonize conflict with those I'm working with to better achieve our goals.

Absolutely Stunning Accomplishment

In the last few years, very many UX books have been written that are funny, well written, and helpful. This one still manages to rise above the amazing books that have come out. It's superbly written: absolutely brilliant prose that is amazing to read. Dan Brown has put together information that will likely save countless design teams their sanity, lead them to producing brilliant designs, and learn about themselves as people who can grown and become better. Precisely how he's put together this information is inspiring: well done, Mr. Brown! Seriously: this may be one of the absolute best UX and design books ever released, and it's almost worth buying several copies to hand out to your team.

Great book- surprising truths

This is a great book, and goes a long way to helping to understand the conflict inherent in design. Another review said that this book was analytical and dry which is true- but it is so chock full of practical advice and insights that if it was made more anecdotal it would be 800 pages long. My only problem is that I haven't been able to get through the entire book because I have to set it down every couple pages to digest the simple and kind of mind bowing truths that are extolled. wish this was an audiobook so that I could listen while I multi-task.
